WOLF: Cover Of MERCYFUL FATE Classic Posted Online
March 16, 2008Swedish metallers WOLF have issued the following update:
"As many of you know, and many of you DON'T know, WOLF did a cover of MERCYFUL FATE's 'A Dangerous Meeting' on the 2002 release 'Black Wings'. We thought we'd share that with those off you that missed out, so we 'gave' the song to the WOLF UK MySpace site. We're fans of metal, good metal that is, and there's no doubt about the impact MERCYFUL FATE have had on WOLF, so we did a cover of 'em to show our appreciation. Getting the (devilish) blessing from several MERCYFUL FATE members for that version made us believe in metal even more!"

Fan-filmed video footage of Swedish metallers WOLF performing the song "I Will Kill Again" on November 23, 2007 at the Uppsala Thrasfest in Uppsala, Sweden can be viewed below.
WOLF recently posted its cover of IRON MAIDEN's "Dj Vu" on the band's MySpace page. The song was featured on the "Tribute to the Beast Vol. 2" compilation, which came out in 2003 on Nuclear Blast Records, and on the vinyl version of WOLF's "Evil Star".
WOLF is currently writing material for its new album, tentatively due later in the year. "We've come up with some killer tunes that will sure carry the name WOLF with pride," the group previously stated. "It's too early to reveal any details but we're excited to have started writing and trying out stuff at rehearsals. We're aiming on a summer recording session and details will follow soon."
WOLF last year announced the addition of bassist Anders "Tornado" Modd to the group's ranks.
The band's latest album, "The Black Flame", was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. The follow-up to 2004's "Evil Star" is the first album to feature new drummer Tobias R Kellgren and longtime session/live guitarist Johannes Losbck alongside founding members Niklas Stlvind (vocals, lead guitar) and bassist Mikael Goding (who has since left the band).
